Joseph is the Executive Director for the North Hudson Campus. He believes that all students should have equitable access and an opportunity to thrive.

Joseph has approximately twenty-five years of experience in the field of education, which includes public school experience as a teacher and administrator, as well as approximately twelve years’ experience in higher education serving as a Professor of English and Developmental Education, as well as an administrator. He received his Master’s Degree in Education and Reading from New Paltz University. In addition, he has received a Post Master's Certificate in Higher Education Administration from Grambling State University, completed the Chair Academy Leadership and Development Program in June, 2023. He is currently Pursuing his doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Liberty State University.

Joseph personally believes that all students deserve the opportunity to receive a college education. In addition, he passionately believes in the transformation of education. He is honored and pleased to be working with everyone to continue to improve relationships with the entire college community to enhance student persistence, success, and graduation rates. 

 

Jason received his Bachelor’s Degree from Montclair State University in Justice Studies with a Paralegal concentration. Jason is a first-generation college student, who believes that everyone has the right to further their education.

Jason received his Bachelor’s Degree from Montclair State University in Justice Studies with a Paralegal concentration. Jason is a first-generation college student, who believes that everyone has the right to further their education.

He enjoys helping students reach their goals. Jason can assist students with all areas of Enrollment Services ranging from the application process, student issues, residency status, and academic contracts, to name a few. Jason is very determined in helping students be successful.

 

Diana Galvez brings over a decade of experience working in higher education. She has worked for the past fifteen years within the realms of student life, student services and academic affairs. Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Diana's story is intertwined with the vibrant tapestry of Hudson County.

Diana Galvez brings over a decade of experience working in higher education. She has worked for the past fifteen years within the realms of student life, student services and academic affairs. Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Diana's story is intertwined with the vibrant tapestry of Hudson County. It was here that she completed her formative K-12 education, igniting her passion for learning.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hudson County Community College with an Associate of Arts in Sociology in May of 2017. She completed her Bachelor of Arts with New Jersey City University in Sociology and Anthropology in January 2020, after completing an observational study in New Delhi, Agra, and Ahmedabad, India. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Administrative Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Diana's passion for student success is evident in her multifaceted role. As an advisor for the Latin Society club and co-advisor for the Active Minds Chapter of HCCC, she connects students with vital resources while fostering a safe environment conducive to achievement. Diana takes a leadership role in initiatives such as the JED Campus, where she spearheads the social connections and communications subgroup. She fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus in her roles as co-chair for the President’s Advisory Council for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and co-facilitator of La Hermanidad, a women-centered support group that provides invaluable guidance and support to students, faculty, and staff.

 

Aura Matias is the secretary for the Executive Director of the North Hudson Campus. She has been working at the college since 1984.

Aura Matias is the secretary for the Executive Director of the North Hudson Campus. She has been working at the college since 1984. She enjoys assisting who ever needs help and treats everyone with respect, the way she likes to be treated. Her passion regarding education is to give a helping hand to students and faculties during their time at HCCC.
