Drinking Water Treatment

Drinking Water Treatment

A drinking water treatment facility ensures water is safe and clean for consumption through a multi-step process. It begins with screening to remove debris, followed by coagulation and flocculation to cluster particles together. Sedimentation allows these particles to settle, and filtration further purifies the water. Finally, disinfection using chlorine or ultraviolet light eliminates remaining pathogens. The treated water is tested to meet safety standards before distribution, safeguarding public health by providing high-quality drinking water. This course will enable students to design such a facility, equipping them with the skills to create efficient and effective water treatment systems.

The course will take place on Saturday and Sunday for one week online, with a Certificate of Completion provided upon completion of the course.
