Waste Water Treatment (Municipal) 

Sewage treatment, or domestic/municipal wastewater treatment, removes contaminants from sewage, making it safe for environmental discharge or reuse. This course equips students with comprehensive knowledge of wastewater treatment methods, preparing them to work in water treatment plants. They will learn about sewage, domestic, municipal, and stormwater treatment, as well as the design principles of treatment facilities. The course also covers common treatment practices across various U.S. states. 

Students Learning Outcomes (SLO) 

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: 

  • Develop a broad knowledge and understanding of the means and methods employed in water treatment.
  • Identify issues and propose mitigation measures.
  • Inspect methods to ensure their suitability.
  • Determine the quality of water through testing.
  • Recognize the duties of an inspector in ensuring the provision of quality and safe products.
