Overview

Acts as the FWS Front Desk / Office Assistant for the Nursing Program’s reception area. Answers phones, greets visitors, directs visitor's and guests appropriately and maintains reception area. FWS Front Desk / Office Assistant is the first point of contact for the RN Nursing Program. A Professional appearance and a friendly welcoming demeanor is required at all times.

Responsibilities

• Can work any hours from 4 to 10 hours per week or more as long as it does not interfere with class schedules (cannot exceed 20 hours per week), for the Front Desk or other clerical areas assigned during the fall and spring semesters.
• Should always maintain a pleasant demeanor and will greet and direct visitors appropriately.
• Will answers the telephone in a professional manner, screen telephone calls, take full and complete messages, and directs calls in a quick and efficient manner.
• Will interact professionally with all visitors, faculty, staff and administrators within the nursing department, as well as other departments at HCCC as well.
• Will assist with typing correspondence, editing documents, filing documents into folders, making photocopies, create address labels in WORD, assist with putting paperwork in alpha order and organizing nursing binders, assist with mass mailings of brochures, forms, flyers, etc.
• Will complete other clerical duties as assigned when needed.
• Will uphold the Rules and Regulations of the RN Nursing Program as defined in the HCCC Student Handbook, in the RN Nursing Rules and Office Etiquette handout and as well as in the FWS Program Student Handbook.
• Should be Customer Service Oriented.
• Calls to the attention of their immediate Supervisor, which is the lead Administrative Assistant of the RN Nursing Program, any emergency situation that requires immediate attention when necessary.
