Culinary Arts Institute HandbookSpecialized Proficiency Certificates are short-term, career-oriented courses designed to develop proficiency in particular skill areas. They are designed for individuals who may not initially desire a degree but who wish to increase their opportunities for employment in the food service industry. Students are permitted to enroll in and complete only one specialized proficiency certificate before being required to take the College's Placement Test and completing basic skills requirements.
